What is it?

  • Call Diversion helps you pick up your calls wherever you happen to be
  • Have your calls diverted to your mobile phone or to another number while you are away from home

How much does it cost?

  • Call Diversion is $3.95 a month (including GST) or
  • $2.50 a month (including GST) if you have an Anytime, a Total Home package or Homeline home phone plan and all your direct dial calling with Telecom
  • Remote Divert is an additional $2.95 a month

Standard Calling charges apply if you divert your calls to a mobile phone or to another phone outside your calling area.

How does it work?

Diverting your phone is as simple as dialling three numbers. You can programme in up to nine telephone numbers where you regularly divert calls.

Choose one of these three options to manage your calls.

  • Immediate call diversion: All calls are diverted to the number you've chosen
  • Diversion if not answered: The call rings at your home phone. If you don't answer it after ten seconds, a recorded message advises your caller the call is being diverted to another number
  • Diversion if busy: Calls are only diverted if the line is engaged

Please note that not all Call Diversion options are available in all areas.

How does Call Diversion work with other Smartphone services?

  • Call Diversion with a Dual Number: Calls can be received on a second number while calls to your main number are redirected
  • Call Diversion with Remote Divert: With Remote Divert there's no need to worry about activating your Call Diversion service before you leave home. Wherever you are in the country, you can activate Call Diversion simply by dialling 083215

Things you should know

  • Calling charges apply if you divert your calls to a mobile phone or to another phone outside your local calling area
  • Telecom requires 30 days notice of cancellation of this Smartphone service. This means the usual charges will continue to apply for 30 days after the date you cancel your service, even if it is disconnected within that period
  • Please note that in some cases this service may not be available or is limited due to network constraints and incompatibility with other products and services
  • You need to have a Telecom account to order Call Diversion online. Join online here and order Call Diversion as part of your new connection
