Pay whichever way works for you
When you join us, you can choose from a broad range of payment options. Enjoy the convenience of Direct Debit, Automatic Payment or phone and Internet banking options. Alternatively, you can pay by post or in person.
Direct Debit
Remembering to pay your bill on time can be a hassle, especially when you have to do it while you're away on holiday or business. So here's a way to take the worry out of it - Direct Debit.
With Direct Debit, your Telecom bill is paid automatically from your bank account each month. And the great thing about it is that you still have complete control over how much you pay. You can query your account up to 2 days before your payment is due.
Residential customers
If you bank with ANZ National, ASB, BNZ, Westpac, Kiwibank, TSB, NZ Home Loans, Bank Direct or Sovereign Home Loans, you can sign up online using our new
online Residential Direct Debit form.
Otherwise please download a Direct Debit form to complete, or
ask us to post one to you.
Business customers
If you bank with ANZ National, ASB, BNZ, Westpac, Kiwibank, TSB, NZ Home Loans, Bank Direct or Sovereign Home Loans, you can sign up online using our

Telephone banking
Pay your bill from any touchtone phone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with telephone banking. Just call your bank and set up Telecom as one of your bill payees. Here are the numbers for most major banks. You'll need to have your Telecom account number handy.

Internet banking
If you use online banking services you can add Telecom to your payee options. When you receive your monthly account you just go online and transfer the amount due from your bank account.

It's important to use your 9 digit Telecom Account Number (located in the top right corner of your monthly statement) in the bank's reference field to ensure your payments are processed promptly.

Automatic Payment
You can set up a nominated amount to be paid from your bank account to Telecom each week, fortnight or month. You need to calculate the amount to pay each time carefully to make sure the account is not over or under paid.

Paying by cheque
When you pay your bill by sending in a cheque with your payment slip please use the reusable envelope provided. Don't forget to attach a stamp to it.
Paying by cash
You can pay your phone bill with cash or EFTPOS at any New Zealand Post Shop. Just take along your phone bill - they will need to scan the bar code.
Paying by credit or charge card
You can use one of the credit or charge cards listed below to pay your bill by calling 0800 000 000, entering 7631 and following the four easy steps. You will be able to choose the amount you wish to pay, or opt to pay the full unpaid amount.
Using this option for one-off payments of Telecom accounts will incur a fee referred to as a convenience fee which is charged by each credit or charge card processing service provider and will appear as a separate transaction on your credit or charge card statement.
This Convenience Fee is a percentage of the total amount paid and differ depending on the card you use:
Fee Structure:
Visa and MasterCard - 3%
American Express - 2%
Diners Club - 2%
Telecom does not receive any part of this additional fee, but we will advise you the fee will apply at the time of each one-off payment.
Please note the fee does not apply to pre-loaded credit or charge card payments that occur monthly. To set this up please download an authority to debit card form and complete or ask us to post one to you.
