Diagnosing a fault
If you're experiencing problems with your phone, pager, data line or mobile, here's some information to help you determine the nature of the fault and how to resolve it.
If you have no dial tone
Check handsets on any other extension phones are hung up and, if you have one available, try another phone in the socket. Let us know if this does not restore dial tone or one of our rental phone is proved faulty.
If you're not sure whether the fault is with your equipment or our network
First, unplug all your own equipment from the Telecom line and then plug in a Telecom phone only. If you experience no problems with a test call, your own equipment is probably faulty.
If you're not sure whether the fault is with your PABX or our network
As a general rule, if a fault affects only one or a limited
number of individual extensions, call whoever maintains your PABX. However,
if the fault is impacting all or random extensions, call us to report the
fault.
If you're getting an engaged signal and want to check if there's a fault on the line
Call 0800 000 000 and follow the prompts to carry out your own test. You cannot test lines for numbers on other local networks.
