Paul Reynolds: Chief Executive, Telecom Group
Dr Paul Reynolds was appointed Chief Executive of the Telecom Group on June 28 2007, effective from 27 September 2007. His previous role is as CEO of BT Wholesale in the United Kingdom. Paul joined BT in 1983 after completing a doctorate in geology at the University of London. He has had a distinguished career, encompassing senior leadership roles in sales and marketing, strategy, information systems, broadband, and guiding BT's wholesale business through the complex process of operational separation, when Openreach was created. He served on BT's Board of Directors from 2001. In 2006, the Telecommunications Industry Association of America awarded him its 'Global Icon' award for his leadership and innovation.
Matt Crockett: Chief Executive, Telecom Wholesale
Matt Crockett was appointed as CEO of Telecom's operationally separate Wholesale unit in November 2007. He is responsible for developing the business that delivers the next generation of wholesale network products to more than 100 service providers across New Zealand. Matt joined Telecom in 2003 and earlier roles include General Manager Wholesale NZ, General Manager for Telecom's retail fixed line voice, data and internet businesses and Head of New Zealand Market Strategy. Previously he was at global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company. Matt has a BEng honours degree in Mining Engineering and was an Oxford University Rhodes Scholar, completing a Master of Philosophy in Management. An Australian by birth, he is now a New Zealand citizen and outside of work, enjoys philosophy, free diving, spear-fishing and spending time with his family.
Tristan Gilbertson: Group General Counsel
Tristan was appointed Group General Counsel in July 2008. He leads Telecom's Group Legal & Corporate Services team and is responsible for legal services, internal audit, risk management and compliance, corporate governance, public policy and regulatory affairs. He also oversees the Independent Oversight Group Support Office created under Telecom's Operational Separation Undertakings. Tristan is a highly experienced corporate and commercial lawyer with extensive international experience in telecommunications law and regulation. After graduating BA (Japanese) and LLB(Hons) from Auckland University, Tristan commenced his career as the Wellington High Court Judges' Clerk, before going on to practice law with several leading international law firms. He then joined Vodafone Group PLC, where he occupied a number of senior leadership positions, including Legal and Regulatory Director - Asia-Pacific Region and Governance Director - Europe Region. Outside work, Tristan enjoys spending time with his family and friends, keeping fit at the gym, keeping up his Japanese language skills, and pursuing his interest in music.

Alan Gourdie: Chief Executive, Telecom Retail
Alan returned home to New Zealand to join Telecom in August 2008, he will be responsible for driving the Retail Division's commitment to improving the experience of Telecom consumer and business customers. Alan has a passion for brands. After starting his career as a research and development chemist at Reckitt and Colman, Alan moved into brand management. He took on a senior marketing role at DB Group, eventually becoming the General Manager Marketing for the Brewing business. Since then he has worked as Global Marketing Manager for Heineken in Amsterdam and for Asia Pacific Breweries leading the operations in Singapore. Immediately prior to joining Telecom Alan was in London as Managing Director of APB's UK and European operations. Alan completed a Bachelor's degree in Science in 1986 and a Master's Degree with First Class Honours in Chemistry from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
Russ Houlden: Group Chief Financial Officer
Appointed CFO in April 2008, Russ has extensive experience working in senior international financial leadership roles and now leads finance teams located across New Zealand and Australia. He was Finance Director at the commercial law firm Lovells from 2002 until 2008. Lovells is one of the largest international business legal practices, with over 3000 people operating from 26 offices in Europe, Asia and the United States. Previously he worked for BT, as finance director of BT Wholesale - a business with 30,000 staff and capital expenditure of around two billion pounds annually, and for ICI in Europe and Japan. Russ has a BSc in Management Sciences from the University of Warwick. Outside work Russ is a keen water-skier; in the early 1990s he was Tokyo champion. He no longer competes but still gets a thrill when he beats his personal best.
Frank Mount: Group Chief Transformation Officer
As Chief Transformation Officer, Frank is responsible for driving the company's transformation for long-term growth and delivering Telecom's new generation of world-class services to our customers in new and innovative ways. He's well equipped to do this with an impressive track record in senior leadership roles at some of the world's leading telecommunications companies. After starting his career at AT&T, where he stayed for 20 years, Frank has since worked for T-Mobile, Cable & Wireless, US Cable, Primus Communications and Viatel Inc. Frank has an extensive knowledge of the full spectrum of telecommunications and IP technologies. Frank was educated in Europe and the USA in moderns, classics and sciences and has a degree in mathematics and IT from Mercy College, New York.
Wayne Peat: Group Human Resources Director
Wayne Peat was appointed our Group Human Resources Director in April 2009, effective from the end of May 2009. Wayne is responsible for the Human Resources function, which oversees and develops strategies and policies to ensure that Telecom people can effectively contribute to achieving the company's goals. Wayne has been based in Singapore since 2001 and has more than 25 years experience in consulting and senior management in New Zealand, Australia, Asia and the UK. His most recent role was Vice President and Partner for IBM's Human Capital Management Practice, with responsibility for the development and delivery of effective HR solutions for clients across 130 countries, in six key growth markets, leading a team of around 300 consultants. Prior to his roles at IBM, Wayne led and developed the Human Capital practice for Mercer HR Consulting in both NZ and Singapore.
Chris Quin: Chief Executive, Gen-i
Chris is responsible for leading a team of 3,300 at one of Australasia's fastest-growing, innovative ICT services providers. Under his leadership, Gen-i is transforming the delivery and support of integrated IT and telecommunications solutions to organisations across New Zealand and Australia. Chris's strengths include channel management, sales and services strategy, and business change. He is an acknowledged team leader and motivator. His achievements have included the management of the merger of Gen-i, Telecom Advanced Solutions, and Computerland after establishing Telecom Advanced Solutions as New Zealand's leading ICT services group, achieving year-on-year business growth and expansion into Australia. Before joining Telecom in 1991, Chris was CFO for Mitel and Financial Accountant at Orica (formerly ICI). He took up his current role in 2004. Chris has a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University in Wellington.
Mark Ratcliffe: Chief Executive, Chorus
Mark Ratcliffe, is CEO of Telecom's network business, Chorus, and formally takes up his new role on 31 March 2008. Mark is responsible for establishing the operationally separate business unit, which will manage the telecommunications infrastructure and give service providers equal access to the local network. Mark was previously Chief Operating Officer Technology & Enterprises where he was responsible for all of Telecom's network and IT operations as well as Telecom's wholesale activities and the managed customer business of our Australian operation. Mark was Telecom's Chief Information Officer before this. Prior to coming to Telecom, he worked in senior accounting, IT, project management and consulting roles in England and New Zealand. Mark has a BA (accountancy and commerce) from Huddersfield University, England. He likes spending time with his family and friends as well as watching and participating in sport.
Rod Snodgrass: Group Strategy Director
As Group Strategy Director, Rod Snodgrass drives the development of Telecom's Group Strategy with the aim of optimising our portfolio of businesses and initiatives, including Group corporate development, and coordinating our company's transformation and growth agendas. Prior to becoming Group Strategy Director, Rod was GM Group Strategy and Development. Before that, Rod was GM of our Wired Division, including Telecom's retail fixed-line, voice, data and internet businesses. Prior to heading up Wired, Rod was GM of Xtra, our company's online division, after having held various financial, commercial and business development roles in the division. Rod joined Telecom in 1998 after seven years in various strategy, business development and commercial roles in the oil and gas exploration and production industry. Hailing from Nelson in the South Island, Rod spent his youth in Nelson and New Plymouth before graduating from Wellington's Victoria University with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant. Rod's spare time is devoted to his three children, catching up with friends and keeping fit by running, cycling, swimming, surfing and playing tennis.

Tina Symmans: Director of Corporate Relations
Tina was appointed as the Group Director of Corporate Relations in June 2008. She has extensive experience in marketing, corporate relations and strategic communications, and has held a variety of senior roles with leading New Zealand companies in the capital markets, banking, ports, transport, energy and agriculture sectors. Tina also founded and managed a successful strategic communications and government relations consultancy and has been providing independent advice to large New Zealand businesses for many years. She is currently a Director on the Boards of PSIS Ltd. and Turners & Growers Ltd. When she's not at work Tina likes to spend time with her family at her home in the Hawkes Bay, especially when she is waist deep in the Tuki Tuki river fishing for whitebait.
