What is it?
Designed to make life easier and more secure for you, your friends and your family
Hotline Immediate: Immediately calls a pre-set number when the handset is removed from the phone.
Hotline Delayed: Calls a pre-set number after eight seconds, when the handset is removed from the phone and no numbers are dialled.
How much does it cost?
Hotline Immediate:
- $2.55 a month (including GST) if your toll calls are billed to your Telecom account
- $4.04 a month (including GST) if your toll calls are billed to another toll provider
Hotline Delayed:
- $2.55 a month (including GST) if your toll calls are billed to your Telecom account
- $4.04 a month (including GST) if your toll calls are billed to another toll provider
How does it work?
- Hotline is a great service for the sick, the elderly or those living alone
- If you ever need assistance urgently, with Hotline all you have to do is remove the handset from the phone and after eight seconds, a pre-determined number will automatically be dialled
- The number could be a relative, neighbour or a close friend; someone who will know immediately what the call means, even if you are unable to speak
Hotline requires a touchtone phone and is available in most areas.

Things you should know
- Telecom requires 30 days notice of cancellation of this Smartphone service. This means the usual charges will continue to apply for 30 days after the date you cancel your service, even if it is disconnected within that period
- Please note that in some cases this service may not be available or is limited due to network constraints and incompatibility with other products and services
- You need to have a Telecom account to order Hotline. Join online and order Call Minder as part of your new connection
