Gaining the support and enthusiasm of teaching staff, management and parents is an important step in making sure your students get the greatest benefit possible from your investment in SchoolZone. On a practical level, you are likely to need approval from your board of trustees to purchase the service. This information is designed to help you prepare your case.
Do your homework
Firstly, satisfy yourself that SchoolZone is the best way to achieve your school's teaching and learning objectives by utilising all of the available information about SchoolZone:
Research the teaching and learning outcomes - contact the SchoolZone governance team (Virtual Education Networks) for advice about your situation and contacts for schools in your area using SchoolZone
The MoE helpdesk offers independent advice to schools wanting to make a decision about a managed internet service (0800 CALL ICT)
Canvas your stakeholders and get their opinion - this might include the Ministry of Education ICT team, the correspondence school, and, if you're lucky, the partner who is helping you with funds to establish the service
Agree the way forward with your IT and teaching team - your Telecom sales champion is available to answer any questions you may have
