Steps involved

 

Follow these steps to get SchoolZone.

1. Check availability

Call Telecom on 0800 755 966 (option 1) to find out if SchoolZone is available for your school.

2. Register with the Virtual Education Networks

Register with the Virtual Education Networks (VEN) and join an existing community, create a new community, or join as an independent school.

3. Complete the 'site discovery form'

The next step is to prepare your school's IT system and provide our service team with the information it needs to make sure the installation goes smoothly.

The site discovery form is a mix of technical and administrative questions and is likely to be best completed by your IT team or provider.

4. Sign the Telecom SchoolZone service contract

Your Telecom sales representative or Telecom Dealer will provide you with a SchoolZone service contract that includes the terms and conditions and the service description.

5. Purchase and install video conferencing equipment

You will need to purchase and install video conferencing equipment if you intend using SchoolZone's video conferencing service.

6. Service installation and testing

One of our co-ordinators will contact you to arrange installation. The installation process usually takes 15 days to complete. You will need to ensure that your IT team or service provider is available during installation and testing, to provide assistance.

7. Train staff

We recommend you consider purchasing training from a qualified SchoolZone trainer, so you can be sure you fully utilise and benefit from the many features included in the service.
