Telecom Global Data Roaming
Telecom Global Data Roaming will help you stay on top of your emails, send large files and browse the internet. You can also connect to your office network on your existing remote LAN access by using Office Anywhere with the Telecom Connection Manager via the Home Broadband tab.
As Telstra Australia is scheduled to close their network on 28 April 2008, your existing Telecom CDMA data device will no longer roam in Australia. In order to data roam in Australia after the closure, you will need a WorldMode or GSM data device.

Before you go
Prior to leaving New Zealand, it's important to make sure you're ready to roam. Just follow these quick and easy steps
- Make sure your destination is listed on the coverage map above.
- Make sure you activate your Telecom SIM. Don't have a SIM or a GSM data device? Dial 0800 492 120.
- If you own a CDMA data device but will roam using a GSM data device, be sure to turn the CDMA device off prior to leaving NZ and ensure it is not in use during your travels. Leaving it on will interrupt the service on the roaming device.
- If you are travelling with a data card be sure to download the most up to date Sierra Watcher™ software. To check that you have the most up to date software contact the International Roaming Helpdesk on 0800 492 120
- Remember to pack your charger and power adaptors!

Need a loan device?
If you are an existing Telecom Mobile Broadband customer using an active CDMA data device in New Zealand, we will provide you with a loan data device to use when you're away (subject to availability). The loan service is free, although you will be required to pay all applicable data roaming charges. Depending on your location, it could take up to 4 days for delivery of the loan device. Can I buy a WorldMode data device?
New WorldMode PDAs will be arriving soon. In the meantime, we can lend you a PDA phone that can roam to around 100 countries, or a data card if you'd prefer. For more information on loan data devices please contact the International Roaming Helpdesk on 0800 492 120.
Things you should know
Because you will be roaming on a different network, Telecom cannot guarantee the quality and availability of the network or coverage while you are roaming.
