Telecom has an incredible track record of continuous improvement in reducing our carbon footprint. Every year, we ask all of our team to help us reduce our greenhouse emissions.

Since 2006:

Emissions

Have been redcued by 28%. That's 19000 tonnes of carbon.

Emissions Intensity

Has been reduced by 48% per customer.
 

Carbon Performance

Has improved in many facets of our business.
 

Our three area of focus:

Energy

This year:

  • Emissions are down 8% (3720 tonnes)
  • Energy consumption has been held to a 3% increase
  • Electricity use per office employee down from 2300 to 2100kwh

Since 2006:

  • 31% reduction in electricity emissions

Travel

This year:

  • Travel emissions reduced by 24% (2567 tonnes)
  • There are 97 less cars in our fleet
  • Passenger air miles traveled reduced by 9 million

Since 2008:

  • Travel emissions reduced by a third
  • International travel reduced by over half

Waste

This year:

  • Refrigant emissions reduced by 2223 tonnes
  • Emissions from waste reduced by 25 tonnes
  • Monthly waste per person down from 2.5kg to 2.3kg

Since 2006:

  • Overall waste emissions reduced by 26%
