Telecom IT Roadshow
Welcome to the Telecom Information Technology Roadshow. This exciting education roadshow is on the road all over New Zealand each and every year
The Telecom Information Technology Roadshow has lots of new fun and amazing interactive exhibits that allow you to experience the latest information and communication technology of today and the future. It travels in a unique purpose-built semi-trailer which hydraulically unfolds to a large 'classroom size' room.
The IT Roadshow offers the following programmes:

Robotics Control Technology is the latest Telecom IT Roadshow course which features robotic programming. This 90 minute session focuses on the programming side of control technology using software which has been designed for use by beginners and can also be extended for industrial applications. Using Lego robots and RoboLab software, the programme is designed to cater for a range of abilities; from students with no experience in programming through to more competent students. The session is aimed at intermediate level students but we can accommodate students from year 5/6 through to year 9/10.
Movie Mania is an enterprise skill based programme for years six and above. The student programme runs during school hours and involves students taking on the roles of a new film making company. They carry out real life business activities like budgeting, marketing, securing investment, purchasing and making human resource decisions; the sort of things that real film makers do! Integrated use of ICT tools such as the internet, e-mail, phones, faxes and eTXT text messaging provide support for these processes.
Movie Maker is a complimentary programme to the Movie Mania programme. Students will use existing video footage or bring their own clips, and use Windows Movie Maker to put together a short movie. Students can take their work away with them on CD at the end of the session. Teachers may choose to book for both movie programmes to be taken consecutively.
Teachers will be provided with complimentary pre and post visit classroom activities, enabling them to incorporate the visit into their classroom programmes. Web building workshops for students are also available. Teachers can make online bookings for these sessions now. Schools can choose to pay through redeeming points through the School Connection programme
