Will my mobile work on the Smartphone Network?
We have extensive coverage right across New Zealand. To check your mobile's compatibility with the Smartphone network you'll need your device identification (IMEI) number.

There are three different types of SIM cards - to see which your phone takes remove the phone back cover and battery or refer to your phones user guide.
What else you should know...
If you are on Prepaid with your old network remember to use your credit up before transferring as the credit won’t transfer to Telecom with your number.
If you are on a monthly plan with your old network you may be liable to your old network provider for disconnection fees if you are still in contract with them.
All mobile network operators have an agreed number porting process which ensures you won’t miss any calls while your number is being transferred. How this works is your Telecom SIM will be connected first before your old SIM is disconnected.
We recommend copying your contacts from your old SIM to your mobile phone then you can copy them onto your new SIM. Not sure how to do this? No worries just visit us in store and we can walk you through it.
