Who needs a Second Line?

Second Line will suit any household, or small business who find they just need more than one line. In fact, Second Line is ideal if you have:

  • A fax machine that you’d like to have its own line
  • A home business and you want to keep your home and business lines separate
  • A large or busy household and people make and receive lots of calls

What else do I need to know to be eligible for Second Line?

  • You need to have your first line on a Telecom residential phone plan
  • Your Second Line must be billed to the same customer name as your first line
  • Your Second Line must be at the same physical address as your first line

Installation charge

There will be a one-off charge for installing your second line. Call 123 for details.

What happens when I ask for a Second Line?

  • We'll send a Telecom contractor to your house to arrange installation
  • They’ll tell you if there are any additional charges on top of the installation charge - for example, if we need to additional work to connect your Second Line
  • You decide whether you wish to go ahead or not
  • If additional work is required and you decide not to go ahead, our visit is free
  • Please note that second line is not available in all areas.
