Call Waiting

If you get a lot of calls, or you're expecting an important call, it's good to know if someone else is trying to reach you.

Call Waiting tells you if another call is coming in.

How do I get Call Waiting?

Order Call Waiting as part of the Anytime or Total Home packages, or you can order it online directly.

What are you waiting for?

Call Waiting is a great service for busy households and for people running a business from home.

  1. If you're on the phone and someone rings you, you'll hear four short beeps. You can then choose whether or not you answer this second call.
  2. You can switch from one call to the other just by pressing the 'flash' or 'recall' button. Your other caller will just hear the normal ringing tone until you talk to them.
  3. To return to the first caller, simply press the 'flash' or 'recall' button again and you will be able to continue your original conversation.

Call Waiting costs just $4.04 a month or $2.55 a month if you have an Anytime or Total Home package, or Homeline home phone plan and all your direct dial calling with Telecom.

You can also add these:

Call Minder – if you decide not to accept the second call, you can let it go through to Call Minder to take a message.
Dual Number or FaxAbility – a great idea if you have a fax operating on the same number, so that you never miss important faxes.

What else you should know …

  • Call Waiting requires a touchtone phone and is available in most areas.
  • Call Minder may not be available or limited due to network constraints and incompatibility with other products and services.
  • Once you sign up for Smartphone services, you need to give us 30 days' notice if you want to cancel them. So the usual charges will continue to apply for 30 days after the date you actually cancel the service(s), even if the service itself is disconnected during that time.
