Activate your IoT Bridge account

1. Check your emails for an activation link from admin@iot.spark.co.nz

If you can't find the email in your inbox, check your spam/junk folder. 

2. Click the activation link and create a new password. 

If you've lost the activation email, go to www.iotbridge.nz/app and click on "Forgot your password?"

3. Review and accept the Spark Privacy Policy, then click Next to activate your account. 

Device installation guide

Pre-installation steps

Your device is already switched on and connected to the Spark IoT network. You do not need to swtich it on. 

1. Verify device connection in IoT Bridge​

• Make sure the device is added to your account on Spark IoT Bridge prior to installing it. You can search for the device in IoT Bridge using its serial number. If the device isn't listed, it needs to be added by your IoT Bridge admin.​

• Check the device card in IoT Bridge for the latest readings and last sync time. This will confirm that the device data is being received and recorded on IoT Bridge.​

2. Check location suitability

To avoid interference with the wireless transmission, do not install the device inside a metal shielded box, or in an environment with other electrical equipment around it.

• Make sure the device can transmit data from the location you want to install it. Do not use the supplied 3M adhesive pads during this step.

• Leave the device at its intended location for over three hours, allowing it to collect and transmit data.

• After the device has been in place for at least three hours, check the device card in IoT Bridge for the latest readings and last sync time to confirm its data is being synced.​ 

• If the device hasn’t synced to the IoT Bridge platform after three hours, please contact the IoT Support team on 0800 436 4847, or email us at iotsupport@spark.co.nz

3. Configure device rules and alerts​

• Refer to the Quick Start-up Guide for instructions on how to configure rules and alerts.​

Install the freezer sensor​

1. Mount the radio module

Make sure the radio module is protected from damage by pallets, stored goods or other equipment. Mount the radio module onto non-moving parts, such as the door frame rather than the door itself. If your freezer has a probe access port, ensure there’s sufficient cable length to reach from the radio module into the port.​

This device comes with two custom-made 3M strips on its frontside. 

1. Wipe the surface with wiping alcohol.
2. Peel the protective film off the 3M strips. 
3. Press the device onto the wall for 30 seconds.

2. Install the probe

If your freezer has a probe access port​:

1. Clear the insulation inside the port using a screwdriver.
2. Slot the probe through the port into the freezer​.
3. Seal the port around the cable using plumbers putty.

If your freezer has no probe access port​:

1. Slot the probe cable through the door gasket on the hinge side​.
2. Ensure the probe cannot be damaged by the stored goods or the door​.
3. Secure the probe in place with a cable tie​.

Install the fridge sensor​

Make sure the device is protected from damage by pallets, stored goods or other equipment.

This device comes with two custom-made 3M strips on its underside.​

1. Wipe the surface with wiping alcohol​.
   
2. Peel the protective film off the 3M strips​.
3. Press the device onto the wall for 30 seconds​.

Cleaning the sensors​

• Use a lightly damp cloth only.

• Do not use a dripping wet cloth or sponge.

• Do not use any detergent.
